“Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge. He filled it with wine vinegar, put it on a staff, and offered it to Jesus to drink. The rest said, “Now leave him alone. Let’s see if Elijah comes to save him.” And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared to many people. When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, “Surely he was the Son of God!”” - Matthew‬ ‭27:48-54‬

Around this time last year I heard the song “Mighty Cross” by Elevation Worship and fell in love with the song. I had it on repeat for a good solid week. Like every day! There was a part of the song that says, “Oh the cross of Jesus Christ, He's the reason I'm alive. For His blood, has set me free. It will never lose, its power for me!” How awesome is that?! It’s so fitting that today as we celebrate Easter Sunday we remember our victory in Jesus Christ. That through God’s unimaginable sacrifice of putting His Son on the cross, all of us have been set free from the sins that bound us and He’s given us new life and hope through his resurrection! It’s crazy to think that they tried to burry His love, truth and power but failed miserably! Realizing that it can’t be contained or put to death. So let’s celebrate this amazing day with absolute confidence that Jesus conquered death and He’s alive in you, in me, in us! Christ is my victory and I pray that He’s yours too! Happy Easter!!
