More Than Conquerors

IMG_8542.JPG

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written:

“For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, Or nor heavenly rulers neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Easter is my absolute favorite celebration. Even looking back in my childhood, I wasn't one of those kids that gravitated towards Christmas as their favorite, but I LOVED Easter, and still do. Maybe before it was about the thrill of the egg hunt or all the yummy food, but today as an adult it's because of the OVERWHELMING FEELING OF VICTORY! Who doesn't like to win?

This life is hard. This life can be very difficult. Especially when you've chosen to live your life as Jesus did. As a human we all know defeat in some form or another. We can even choose to let us debilitate us. I've been there. I've let defeat and discouragement consume me. Even while trying to walk with God! But the Easter season always reminds me of this: BECAUSE OF CHRIST AND HIS SACRIFICE, I HAVE WON. BECAUSE OF HIS RESURRECTION, I HAVE LIFE. BECAUSE HE IS VICTORIOUS, I TOO HAVE VICTORY.

Let me leave you with this quote from Matthew Henry:

"Let Satan do his worst, he is chained; let the world do its worst, it is conquered: principalities and powers are spoiled and disarmed, and triumphed over, in the cross of Christ. Who then dares fight against us, while God himself is fighting for us?"

Amen. <3
